Finland is a long country. The nothern parts of Finland are not far from the Arctic Ocean and the Baltic Sea splashes on the Southern Coast, 1 157 km more south. This means that we can ski in the north and admire the spring flowers at the same time in south.
The annual changes in temperature and real four seasons are of crucial importance for Finland's climate and people. The best time and place for wintersports is - spring time and in the northern Finland when the sun is shining nearly 24 hours and the snow is at its best. Heelers Roope and Tommy live on the south coast but spend every year 1-2 weeks in the north running up and down the fells and watching that their herd (=the family) do not get scattered. |
